Umpire Positioning

The Ump Show allows you to play the game from two angles that real umpires use: the box or the slot. The box (the view from right behind the strikezone) was too high and the slot (the side view) was too far to the side. So in this update I have updated that. The box angle has been lowered a bit and the slot angle has been moved a little closer to the strike zone.

Additionally, now you are able to smoothly slide between those two views. You can press the arrow keys or A/D keys to start transitioning and you can choose to stop anywhere in between. On mobile, you can tap the buttons but can't stop in between.

Balance and Difficulty

 Since you only have two choices when making a call, you are going to be right 50% of the time when you are purely guessing. This made it pretty hard to fail the game even without trying. Additionally, the adjusted camera angle also made the game a little easier. To compensate, here are the changes that were made:

• Lowered the "integrity" you start with
• Lowered the price of powerups so the overall integrity remains valuable
• Increased the benefit of right calls but increased the penalty of wrong calls significantly
• Added an additional penalty for getting an easy call wrong

Previously you could finish the game with a 50%-60% accuracy but now you have to be in the high-70s to have a chance to finish the game. With some early testers I did notice that it took them a few pitches to get their bearings so in the future I will consider tweaking the scoring to be more forgiving for the first few pitches.
